Kim and I went to see Signs tonight. I posted a full review
here (SPOILER WARNING...I TALK ABOUT THE ENDING). In short, we both really enjoyed it. I would have enjoyed it more if we had not chosen to see it at the Banger 16. Actually, the theater wasn't that bad, it just wasn't the entertainment and eatery Mecca for which I was looking. We still prefer the Glendale theaters and their surrounding restaurants. However, those are about 20 minutes away now. There is a nice theater in Burbank where we saw Fellowship of the Ring (which comes out on DVD on Tuesday along with the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director's Cut 2 disc DVD bonanza), so we will probably use that one as our default theater. Speaking of Khan, Kim and I are going to see the 20th Anniversary screening of Star Trek II at The Egyptian Theater on Thursday. Some of the folks involved are going to be there and there will be a discussion after the movie. It seems like yesterday that my father scarred me for life by taking me to see Star Trek II at the age of 7. It wasn't until high school that I got over bugs crawling in peoples' ears. Thanks, Dad! Useless film trivia that everyone knows, but I am going to say it anyway to use up some space: Star Trek II originally carried the subtitle The Revenge of Khan. However, the producers heard that the new Star Wars movie was titled Revenge of the Jedi. To avoid confusion, STII was changed to The Wrath of Khan. At the end of it, Lucas decided that a real Jedi would never seek or take revenge, so his title was inappropriate. Also, Return of the Jedi leaves more room for interpretation.
