There hasn't been much come out of consequence recently. Kim took me to see The Good Girl. It was better than I would have expected. The Sunday after we got back from KY, we had a movie fest and watched First Blood, Rambo: First Blood part II, and Blade II on DVD. Kim had never seen the Rambos and she actually wanted to see them. As a kid, I remember Rambo being my favorite of the two, but after watching them recently, it is clear that First Blood is the superior film. Rambo is a Hollywood hero action flick, which is fine, but First Blood is a sad story about a guy with post-traumatic stress syndrome. So it has a little more heart. Notice I am completely ignoring Rambo III, even though my mother took me to see it. Maybe I should give it another chance, but I don't remember it being very good.

If you have not seen Blade II yet and you like vampire comic book movies, especially the first one, you must see it now. It is great.

Also, we finally got a chance to watch Ring, which we bought on VHS at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors. That is a damned fine horror movie. I look forward to the American version of it now, but I doubt it will be as creepy. I'll have to try to find Ring 2 and Ring 0 as well as Ring on DVD now.

We also rented Queen of the Damned recently. It is not bad, but not great either. It has a few good moments, but it is not a good follow up to Interview With the Vampire, and it is kind of a combination of the books The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned. It is worth a rental, at least.
