One of my favorite movies of last year, Primer, came out on DVD today. I posted about it here. You should go out and rent it or buy it or something. It's good. Confusing, but good. I'm looking forward to watching it again and attempting to figure out what happens. I've attempted to diagram the chronology of the movie before unsuccessfully, but after a second viewing I may be able to get it. Anyway, just watch it.
You know what today is? 30 DAYS UNTIL STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH. We already got our tickets for the digital midnight showing at the Arclight, and I may need to buy a few more for some later screenings. I like to see the Star Wars movies a few times in the theater and really let it soak in. I listened to the new theme song, Battle of the Heroes, that's available on iTunes. I like it. Each movie typically has a couple main themes that are woven into the music throughout the movie, and this track will give you a taste of one of the themes for the third movie. It definitely has a tragic feeling to it.
We saw The Amityville Horror on Friday. It's pretty good, but not great. It definitely has some good scares, but they are all of the cheaper variety (ie sudden images and loud noises). I prefer the slow burn creepy horror movies.

Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for "sci-fi violence and some intense images". This is the first time a Star Wars movie has ever been rated anything but PG.

I bought Lego Star Wars last night for Xbox. I can't explain why it's so fun, but it is. It's like a really good arcade game that saves what you collect. I'm going to write a review for it to use to get into E3, so I'll be doing that this weekend. I'm also going to finish my Sin City review and post it this weekend, so check back for that in a few days. Lego Star Wars is kind of short, but it has a high replayability quotient. I played through the Episode I segments last night in a few hours. I'm going to avoid the Episode III content until after the movie, just in case. The game isn't trying to tell the stories of the movies, it assumes you already know them. It's just hitting the scenes that you would consider staging with a set of legos. It really is a brilliant idea for a game.

So, after I found out about Star Wars being at the Arclight, my boss's boss's boss pointed me to bloggingla.com (a blog collective for LA bloggers). There is quite the ruckus going on concerning the people who are already lined up for the movie at the Chinese. They are, apparently, not moving the line in protest. It started here, and continues here, here, here, and here. If they decide to move the movie to the Chinese and NOT screen it at the Arclight, I may burn down the Grauman's Chinese Theater, landmark of Hollywood and Highland.

I just read that Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is going to be at the Arclight instead of the Chinese for the opening. This is excellent news! Now I don't have to get in line for good seats 8 hours early...I just have to get in line for tickets 8 hours early. I WILL get N21 and N22 for the midnight showing of Episode III. In my opinion, this was a "grievous" error when they released Episode II and it wasn't at the Arclight until later. I had to go to Glendale and see it. Now I need to find out if they are showing it in digital at the Arclight and if those tickets go on sale at the same time as the normal screens. Digital presentation is what George wants. I hear your word, Lord!
