I put some new photos up in the photos section. These are from the release of Star Wars Episode I in 1999. Enjoy.

I try not to talk about current events, because I think that is lazy blogger fodder, and I don't find news terribly interesting. However, I f'n hate it when someone becomes famous for dying and 4000 people show up for the funeral. I think that is going to happen soon. If this offends anyone, I apologize, but I have no feelings what-so-ever for Terri Schiavo. I didn't know her when she was alive, I don't know her now that she's dead, so I'm not planning on attending or watching her funeral. People have asked me, "What do you think about this Terri Schiavo thing?" and my canned response is, "I don't." Who was Terri Schiavo? If Kim's death somehow became a media circus, and all kinds of people that didn't know her showed up for her funeral all weepy, I would bury them along with her. What goes through these peoples' minds? How do they get the days off?
WEEPER: "Hey, boss. I need tomorrow and the next day off." BOSS: "What for?" WEEPER: "Well, I'm attending a funeral." BOSS: "I'm sorry to hear that. Whose is it?" WEEPER: "Terri Schiavo." BOSS: "...Did you...know her?" WEEPER: "No, but I want to pay my respects, and I want the next day off to mourn." BOSS: "I think you used your last personal days going to the Lacy Petersen funeral. So get back to work, Weeper."
Am I insensitive? Absolutely, and I'm happier because of it. Now, I don't think they should have starved this person to death. As soon as they make the decision, "We will no longer feed this person," they should just end it. By not feeding her, you are killing her, so just do it quickly. I agree with ending her life, but I don't agree with taking 2 weeks to do it. It's cowardice.
All right, let's hear those comments!

This is going to be one of those posts where I give the highpoints of recent events. Ready? BEGIN!!
My parents came out to visit a few weeks ago and we did a lot of running around. We went to the Arclight, Disneyland, Bob's Big Boy in Burbank for the Friday night car show, The Getty, The Petersen Automotive Museum, Planes of Fame at The Air Museum in Chino, and the Santa Monica Pier. It was nice to do some touristy stuff out here. You can see pictures from the trip here. This was the first time my folks have been out here to visit us, so we had lots of fun keeping them entertained. You'll also notice that I've changed the Puppy Photos link at the top left to just Photos. I'll be putting pages and pages of pictures of there (hopefully) in the coming days and weeks.
Not long after my parents flew out, my friend Elliott and his wife May came by on their way to Hawaii where Elliott will be stationed defending our country from invasion by the...Japanese, I guess. Elliott and May were only out here for a day, so I had to take them through a Hollywood crash course. It is actually much harder to get a picture of the Hollywood sign than you'd think. If you're taking it from Beachwood Dr., you need to stand in the middle of the street, much to the dismay of the drivers. I saw at least four other teams of people trying to do the same thing, so someone out there really needs to build some scaffolding in their yard and sell it as a picture spot. We ended up getting a good picture, though. Elliott, send me the pictures from your camera and I'll post them.
After dodging traffic in Hollywood, we came back home to watch a movie and hang out. It was at this point that I found out about Elliott's failure as a husband. You see, May is an actress, yet she had not seen such classics as The Godfather and GoodFellas. She also has not seen either volume of Kill Bill. Now this isn't completely May's fault because these are mostly male movies, which places the blame squarely on Elliott. We watched GoodFellas, but I didn't have time to complete her education. God only knows what else she hasn't seen! Hey Elliott, has she ever seen damn Star Wars or E.T., for Christ sake? You got to get on that. Don't make me send you a list.
So what else happened. We saw The Ring Two last weekend. It has a great opening, but was ultimately disappointing. I was afraid that they could not write a good story with the secret already out (from the first movie), and I was right. We also watched Exorcist: The Beginning. Don't waste any time on that garbage. I've already completely forgotten it.
That's probably about it for now. I'll post again when I put more pictures up.

There is a demo out for LEGO Star Wars. I know what you're thinking, but it is damned fun. Suddenly, I'm really looking forward to this game. I may have to get the Xbox version so that Kim and I can play together. You should download it and try it. In other Star Wars new, 60 Minutes is doing a piece on George Lucas tonight. I believe they are going to show footage from the Episode III, and I'm going to watch it.

UPDATED: Link here. Please don't send this link out or Pusateri will shoot me when all the sites he runs go down.
Oh my god, so here is what happened. I knew the new trailer was on tonight, so I made sure we were tivoing The OC, however, I didn't want to suffer through the episode waiting for it, so I did not watch it live. When I went back to watch it, I slowly came to the realization that they were going to show the trailer at the end of the show. Not only that, but they had some inane introduction preceding it that pushed it over the 1 hour limit. So Tivo truncated the trailer. Luckily for Fox, I was able to find a great version on the internet. Otherwise, I'd be driving to the Fox building with a Uhaul full of explosives.
 The trailer is fucking great!

Just in case you have not heard, the new Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith trailer is premiering next week on Thursday during The OC. Set your Tivos. We'll be watching it. I'm told by a friend who has seen it that it's pretty good. This will probably be the last trailer (they usually only do two) followed by some commercials and one more poster (probably a Drew Struzan collage). The movie is 76 days away.
